HYBE Accused of Copying Stray Kids with KATSEYE’s Lightstick? #kpop
Light sticks are a huge part of K-pop, allowing fans to show love for their favorite groups and reflect the identity of the idols and fandom. Despite being branded as a global group, Catsai sparked surprise after announcing that they were going to bring out a light stick. On July 11th, KST, Catsai announced the new design for their light stick through social media. [Music] Some netisonens hit back at the basic design. Yet, the criticism was directed at the fact that fans of Stray Kids accused Hive of plagiarism after pointing out the similarities to the JP group’s light stick with the design. Fans shared sideby-side comparisons of the two light sticks and hit back at how much they looked alike, especially considering that while the Stray Kids design has developed, the core of the aesthetics has stayed true to the group. But Katesai fans tried to defend the design, saying it was just the group’s OG logo. Light sticks are a core part of a group’s identity.
