TXT’s Soobin Sexually Harassed During Fan Call — Fans Outraged
A recent fan call with TXT Subin has sparked massive outrage online after a so-called fan crossed an extreme line. TXT have been busy promoting their comeback, the Star Chapter together doing performances, interviews, and yes, video call events. But one of those calls in mid August is now going viral. And not in a cute way. During the call, the fan asked Subin about an audio clip allegedly featuring fellow member Yon Jun moaning, “Yes, you heard that right. Someone thought it was appropriate to bring up a fake NSFW Yon Bin audio during a professional idol fan interaction. They then doubled down by asking which version of his relationship with Yonjun he preferred. One where Sububin liked Yonjun for his charisma or one where Yonjun was Subin’s gentle dog owner. Because of course nothing says respect for idols like dragging them into your uninvited fanfiction. Subin visibly confused didn’t answer. He just sat there for a good 20 seconds until the call ended. The OP even captioned the video bragging about their question. Once the clip hit social media, the backlash was instant. One fan wrote, “What the [ __ ] is wrong with some shippers? Why would you show Subin a fake Yon Bin Moaning clip during a fan sign and ask sexual questions? What do you expect him to say? Have some class and dignity.” Another fan called for action saying, “Due to the recent issue with Sububin being sexually harassed in a fan call, we are asking everyone to mass report the issue to Hib.” And others pointed out the obvious. Subin is a human being, not a toy for your fantasies. This was truly disgusting. From the sound of it, the company running the event has allegedly banned the individual from future calls. But many feel that’s not enough. And honestly, I agree. This isn’t the first time fan calls have crossed the line. Remember that time an underage fan made such an inappropriate comment that staff had to step in? Yeah, these calls were a co era invention to keep idols connected to fans when in-person events weren’t possible. News flash, co is over and so should this. If fan calls are going to be used as a way for weirdos to sexually harass idols under the guise of fan engagement, maybe it’s time companies shut them down completely. Let’s keep fan service fun, not creepy. [Music]
TXT’s Soobin faced a shocking moment during a recent video call when a fan showed him a fake NSFW audio clip of fellow member Yeonjun. Fans online are calling this sexual harassment and demanding stricter measures for fan events.
Soobin was visibly confused and didn’t respond, highlighting how inappropriate the situation was. Many fans have expressed outrage, emphasizing that idols are humans, not toys for fantasies.
While most fan calls are harmless, incidents like this show that companies need to rethink these interactions. Is it really worth risking idols’ comfort for outdated fan engagement practices?
