soobin TXT recently went viral especially in the Philippines after he exposed a taxi driver who tried to scam him by doubling the taxi fare when he was on vacation in cebu city on his vlog. it went so viral even the local news channel start covering the story.
instead of applauding him for exposing the scam some people try to cancel him for being stingy because he doesn't want to pay the double price even though he's rich.
a scam is a scam doesn't matter how rich the victim are, wealth doesn’t make overcharging okay 😠being a millionaire doesn’t suddenly make it okay for someone to overcharge you. the issue isn’t whether Soobin can afford it, it’s that the driver intentionally tried to scam him.
if you normalize that kind of behavior just because the victim has money, it just encourages drivers to do it more especially to tourists even locals who can’t afford to lose money like that. calling it out isn’t being stingy, it’s holding people accountable and protecting others from the same situation.
