now i'll jump right into it, so as someone who's always on twitter and tiktok etc, everything is MARTIN MARTIN MARTIN all day lol.
of course he's my number one bias so i love it, but i came to reddit to ask if anyone noticed it too and to give my thoughts on what i've observed, cuz idk how things will turn out in the long run.
you can see it in interviews, live performances, and even fan discussions. martin stands out in ways the other members just don’t and right now, he’s the face, the voice, and the style of the group.
he's the leader of the group which gives him more roles and responsibility, and it automatically makes him the spokesperson for everything 98% of the time. in terms of english he's the one thats 95% fluent, while the others they speak english too, but they are introvert and more quiet. which means when the group does international interviews, it’s basically martin talking majority of the time. like i said the other members can speak english and chime in, but if you watch carefully, it’s almost like “martin being interviewed, featuring james.”
then in terms of fashion style, martin’s aesthetic is fully his own. he got the emo, teenage dirtbag vibes, edgy clothing, and hair that breaks the typical kpop mold thing going on. he doesn’t blend in, he stands out and it’s impossible not to notice him in group shots or performances. honestly in another universe, he would probably be the most popular member overall.
though keonho keeps some of the spotlight thanks to his facial visuals, fans love him, and that’s why martin is number two in attention, even though i think #1 among western fans.
he's the one even non fans notice because of him being the main producer of the group, the main writer and he has credentials working with other hybe artists musically even before debut.
and even cortis update accounts on twitter gets attacked for posting mostly martin stuff, and other members stans wonder why their fave isnt talked about as much..but the fact is martin just stands out more.
the way he talks, his slang, his personal style and music taste, his confidence and E mbti personality…the other members def fall into the background SOMETIMES.
there would be no cortis without martin, and i wouldnt be surprised if bighit built the group around him. they even push him as well.
