While thinking about this photo I realized that it wasn't simply a matter of "removing Keena." If the goal had been to remove someone who no longer worked at the office from the picture the photo would have been cropped or edited. But what was done here was much more deliberate and disturbing: simply covering her face with a plain piece of paper while leaving her body untouched.

This action seems like a way to silence her rather than erase her existence entirely. Keena is still there but her identity has been disregarded. She is visible, but she cannot speak. This seems like a silent show of power by the person who controls the office and considering Keena's allegations against them it's as if to say "You can be here but only in the way I allow."

It's also important to remember that Ablume members use the same office and are exposed to this photo every day. What message do you think this image sends them? It's as if it's saying "Your loyalty will determine how you are remembered."

The sad part is that it's hard to think of this as an "arrangement mistake" or "carelessness." It's a highly deliberate, disturbing, and thought provoking behavior. Such symbolic gestures sometimes provide the most striking clues to understanding the dynamics behind the scenes.
