This makes them the first idols to get this far on Show Me the Money since Woodz in season 5 ten years ago, and Sunhye is the first and only female idol to get to round 3 in SMTM history! They are now one of just 9 kpop idols to ever get here (alongside Bobby, B.I, Mino, Vernon, Joohoney, Woodz).
In round 2, contestants performed a self-written 60sec rap over a beat of their choice, and the 4 producer teams have the option to press the fail button during those 60sec. 4 Fails resulted in elimination. In past seasons, roughly 35-45 rappers passed this round (keep in mind thousands of people audition for SMTM!)
Here are a few points from what was aired + unaired information:
- Sunhye forgot her lyrics and made a few mistakes but narrowly survived with 1 pass. However, this also gave her a lot of screentime. The broadcast made her mistake look worse than it was (mnet editing sucks as always)
- Tag survived with one pass, his rap was not aired but he got a comedy moment with the producers
- Hwi survived with three passes!
- ra.L (Trendz) was eliminated, but he uploaded his rap here
- Vahn (Nine.i) made it to round 2 as well, but it is yet to be confirmed whether he passed or not.
- Tag, ra.L, and Hwi all chose to sit together, and we got like a few 2 second clips of them commentating with each other
